Who can open a Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA)?

Any individual (can't be in-trust) who is 18 years of age or older and has a valid Canadian Social Insurance Number can hold and contribute to a TFSA.
 

Note: In certain provinces and territories, the legal age (depends on the age of majority) at which an individual can enter into a contract (which includes opening a TFSA) is 19.
