Pay on the go with your Tangerine Client Card and Money-Back Credit Card

Add your Tangerine Client Card and Money-Back Credit Card to your wallet app, and use Samsung Pay pretty much everywhere you love to shop.

Just tap your phone on the terminal – it’s that easy. Look for the Samsung Pay logo.

When you use Samsung Pay, your Card Number is never shared with the merchant or saved on your device. Your Tangerine Client Card and Money-Back Credit Card purchases through Samsung Pay are protected against unauthorized transactions as outlined in your Client Card Agreement and Tangerine Credit Card Cardholder Agreement.

 

Samsung Pay works on the Samsung Galaxy S9, S9 Plus, Note 8, S8, S8 Plus, S7, S7 Edge, S6 Edge Plus, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Galaxy A8, and Galaxy A5.

Frequently Asked Questions

Samsung Pay allows you to make in-store purchases using an eligible Samsung device. Add your Tangerine Client Card or Money-Back Credit Card to pay for goods and services at merchants that accept contactless payments.

Eligible Samsung devices use Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, which allows two devices to exchange payment information quickly and conveniently at close range. Samsung Pay is also the only digital wallet to currently use Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technology, which sends a signal that mimics the magnetic stripe on a traditional payment card, allowing you to use Samsung Pay at terminals that don’t otherwise accept NFC payments.

In order to use Samsung Pay, you’ll need:

• An eligible Samsung device: Samsung Galaxy S9, S9 Plus, Note 8, S8, S8 Plus, S7, S7 Edge, S6 Edge Plus, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Galaxy A8, and Galaxy A5
• Your Tangerine Client Card or Money-Back Credit Card

1. Open the Samsung Pay app.
2. Select “Add a credit card or debit card”.
3. Follow the prompts.

There is no cost to register or use your Tangerine Client Card or Money-Back Credit Card with Samsung Pay.

• Standard Account level and Card Account fees apply.
• Existing wireless carrier data and messaging charges apply.

Samsung Pay can be used in store:

• anywhere you can tap or swipe your Card to pay
• anywhere you see the Google Pay logo

The last card used in Samsung Pay automatically becomes the default payment card. You can also go into “Settings”, select “Manage Favourite Cards”, and choose your Tangerine Card as a favourite card.

You can add up to 10 payment cards to Samsung Pay. These include credit cards, debit cards, and private-label credit cards (store credit cards). There is no limit to the number of gift cards that can be added to Samsung Pay.

To delete your Card from the app:

1. Open the Samsung Pay app.
2. Select the Card you’d like to remove. Click “Delete card” from the top right menu to delete your Card from the wallet.

To suspend a Card on the app:

If you’d like to suspend your Tangerine Client Card, please call us at 1-888-826-4374.

If you’d like to suspend your Money-Back Credit Card, log in at tangerine.ca, select your Money-Back Credit Card, and select “Pause Card”.

If you believe your Tangerine Card information used for Samsung Pay has been stolen or compromised in any way, call us immediately at 1-888-826-4374.

Your Samsung device uses state-of-the-art biometric technology (fingerprint, iris scan), and proprietary Knox security to protect your wallet. Payments can’t be initiated unless your biometric or security PIN is used to make a transaction. Your Tangerine Client Card or Money-Back Credit Card purchases made through Samsung Pay are protected against unauthorized transactions with Mastercard’s Zero Liability Policy. Your Card information and transaction information are never shared with Samsung.
